Having collected Panini stickers as a kid I recently got back in to the world of football stickers and cards again and Gregs book really filled me with nostalgia It is full of facts and funny stories which really hit home for somebody who used to collect the stickers or has any interest in them There is SO much to them than a bit of paper that sticks in a book sorry an album I wouldn t hesitate to recommend the book to anybody who wants a good read not just collectors or fans of a sticker Greg Lansdowne Stuck on You evokes sheer nostalgia Its a long time since I ve collected football stickers but this book really brought back that desperation to complete an album and pure delight when you finally get hold of the shiny Spurs badge More than just a trip down memory lane Stuck on You is an engaging read the author s thorough and intelligent research offers the reader a gratifying blend of amusing anecdotes little known facts and interesting tales on a topic that will close to many young at hearts As a football obsessed school boy I had no idea quite how cutthroat the world of sticker collecting really was but this book pulls no punches conspiracy theories corporate scandal and even a dose of Robert Maxwell intrigue it s all here. Stuck on you tattoo I believe this is a debut text and an impressive one at that It s no coincidence that some of the world s most prolific writers have been drawn to the natural drama of the sporting world yet it is indeed refreshing to see a young author tackle a seldom explored subject Consequently Lansdowne is a writer worth following and I for one look forward to his next contribution with some interest Greg Lansdowne Very good Greg Lansdowne What a fantastic book Been meaning to get round to writing a review for a long time now seeing the documentary on the TV recently prompted me to get my finger out. Stuck on you book The passion Greg shows in his writing is brilliant and the book brought back many special memories of those days in the playground looking for those elusive swaps and gave a great insight in to what went on behind the scenes from Panini. Nose stuck in a book 5 stars from me Greg Lansdowne I m 37 now but have yet to top the feeling of being the first boy in my little junior school to complete Mexico 86 The elation of conning my way to Guadalajara stadium followed by two victory laps of my playground is as yet shinies and recurring doubles Stuck on You The Rise amp Fall amp Rise of Panini StickersStuck on You: The Rise & Fall… & Rise of Panini Stickers.
