I loved the first book and this carries on the story line with family regrets and growing It is a tad darker than book one but maintains an interesting tale with likeable and believable characters This book is full of emotions and twists and turns You will love the witches and descriptive tales of old The narration continues to draw you in and maintains your interest 229 The second installmentI continued the journey through this story and a budding love I hoped for an ending where they end up together but have sadly been put off to find out their fate u til the third novel 229 When everything falls apartWhat your characters do when everything falls apart shows their moral strength and growth like nothing else I was worried that Kaspian would have to lose his mother completely to learn his lesson and anything else said would be a spoiler Read this series You won t regret it Some truly beautiful writing 229 A sequel to rival all sequels I just finished this book in audio format and I m struggling to get back to normal life The book is absolutely enchanting and leaves readers and listeners breathless Firstly the story intensifies so much in the sequel and includes such a vast amount of magical elements and emotions including demons witches love despair good and evil I love Brygida as a character and it was so hard to see her going through so many trials but the story is so compelling and beautiful that I m just dying to find out what will happen The writing is excellent and everything you would expect from Miranda The incredible detail put into the story creates such an incredibly complex and dynamic setting and cast of characters I definitely will be waiting for the audiobook version of the finale 229 Book 2 continues the story of Brygida and Kaspian as Brygida begins to venture outside her home and forest getting a taste of the town at the Winter Solstice festival Brygida is not welcomed or accepted by the villagers or Lady Rubin Tata is on his deathbed renewed before Ch. Fat demon slayer characters 8 Lady Rubin disappears perhaps killed by a demon or kidnapped by it Brygida is injured and the only cure is to kill the demon that injured her The story gets darker and somber as Brygida and Kaspian must face their challenges It is not a happily ever after ending There is violence guilt betrayal separation and death as the story leads to an end that begs for the next Book with hopefully a happier ending There are strong emotions relationship tensions among the characters self sacrifice and love that keep you turning the pages wondering what will happen 229

Fate of the demonners Recommend reading highly I read a complimentary advance copy of the book this is my voluntary and honest review 229 More witches demons and a peasant revolt A great way to spend a rainy day Miranda Honfleur and Nicolette Andrews continue their collaboration on Book 2 of the Witch of the Lake Fate of the Demon Once again our hero Kaspian and heroine Brygida can t catch a break As the forest awakens and demons infest the land the star crossed lovers must put romance aside to once again save their people from death But a peasant revolt led by a cult of people who believe witches are the reason for all the world s ills may separate Kaspian and Brygida forever Again Miranda and Nicollette have created a fantasy world that sucks me in and allows me to escape reality of a dirty kitchenlaundry and vacuuming for a short time I love the characters with all their strengths and flaws that make them seem so real I hate cliffhangers and this series has cliffhangers Yet the books are available for free in Kindle unlimitedso there is no waiting to get book 3 in the series I only wish that Brygida and Kaspian could finally get a break to pursue their love for each other Thank you Miranda and Nicolette for another enjoyable afternoon reading 229 This the 2nd book in the series is even thrilling than the first book if possible On the eve of the winter solstice Brygida felt she was the luckiest woman alive having the love of her two mothers a home in her beloved madwood by the lake her job as the reaper which she carried out in the name of her goddess and a dear friend whose life she had saved by proving his innocence However all good things come to an end and so did Brygida s as her life turned on it s head when she good a bad omen which she tried to ignore when a demon entered her woods and attacked her and lady Rubin and blackmarked her The blackmark would travel up her arm and across her chest till it reached her heart and killed her unless she was able to kill the demon before this happened A God had sent her a challenge and she had to see it through if she wanted to live The short straw she had drawn on the feast of the God Weles was an ill fate and it led to death but could she stop this Brygida is forced to leave her own wood and travel through other forests where many evil creatures had awoken but it was not just the creatures of the forests who were dangerous the humans turning on the witches were even so and she battled for than just her life in this thrilling edge of the seat book And after all her striving to do good by everyone Brygida loses everything but hopes for a chance to atone On such a dire note I know I just have to read book 3 and the ending to this beautifully written romantic dark fantasy trilogy steeped in Slavic mythology and folklore which even though saddened by the way things are turning out I am still enjoying reading so much 229 A fun quick paced little escape back into this world I am curious to see how Brygida and Kaspian s story ends after this book 229 A dark and haunting fantasy filled with betrayal and blood I really enjoyed this second installment as things take a turn for the worst With so many twists and turns there s no telling what will happen next but I for one can t wait to see where things go 229
